Finding Stories: Writing Workshop with Dorien Brouwers

Sunday 21st June 2026


In co-ordination with The Foreword Festival


This interactive writing workshop invites participants to explore storytelling, language & imagination through a range of playful and accessible writing exercises. Using prompts and collaborative activities, the session focuses on generating ideas, developing voice and discovering new approaches to creative writing.


The workshop is open to writers from complete beginners to those looking to reconnect with their creative practice in a fresh way. Emphasis is placed on process rather than perfection.


The session is led by published and award winning author / illustrator Dorien Brouwers. Alongside her work, Dorien has facilitated workshops internationally, developing creative sessions that encourage curiosity, confidence and connection.


Participants will leave with:

  • A collection of new writing ideas 
  • Techniques for developing stories and overcoming creative blocks
  • Greater confidence in their writing practice
  • Inspiration for continuing creative work beyond the session

This workshop is part of The Bank's "Creative Workshop Programme" Funded by Suffolk County Council's Culture Fund to help us provide subsidised access to the arts in rural Mid-Suffolk
