Visual Storytelling through Drawing & Composition Workshop with Dorien Brouwers

Sunday 21st June 2026

In co-ordination with The Foreword Festival

Join us for this exciting hands-on workshop exploring drawing as a tool for storytelling, expression and observation - Led by Dorien Brouwers, published and award winning illustrator & author.

Through a series of interactive exercises, participants will experiment with composition, mark-making and visual narrative techniques to develop more confident and engaging imagery. The workshop draws on her experience working across illustration, publishing and participatory arts projects. Dorien has facilitated workshops internationally and enjoys creating welcoming, accessible spaces where participants can explore creativity in an open and supportive way.

Suitable for all experience levels, the session encourages playful experimentation while introducing techniques used in illustration and visual storytelling. Participants will work through several creative exercises designed to unlock ideas and strengthen visual communication.
