Well it's that time of the year again! Bells are ringing, lights are twinkling and the streets are heaving with panicking Christmas shoppers. All the while, Christmas tunes seep out of tiny speakers. But are all Christmas Songs created equally?
In their show “The Greatest Christmas Songs… & Why”, Valerie Rathmann (cello/vocals) and Rupert Gillett (acoustic guitars/vocals) curate the best music ever written for Christmas. With their signature combination of virtuosic playing & slick harmony vocals, they perform their own unique versions of some of the greatest songs ever written, delving into pop, jazz, folk and much more. From Bing Crosby to John Lennon. From the Von Trapp singers to seasonal Rock and Roll classics.
More importantly, these modern-day Raconnteurs & Troubadours delve into the fascinating stories BEHIND some of these songs with a mixture of knowledge, wit and charm. Something to lift the Christmas spirit? Certainly. Fun? Oh yes...

About the musicians:
Valerie Rathmann is sought after cellist & singer and has performed with luminaries such as Mel C, Rae Garvey & Sarah Brightman. She also co-directs Celloversum, a 60 piece cello orchestra based in Cologne, Germany. Rupert Gillett is a multi-instrumentalist singer and international performer who has trodden the boards to the likes of Prince Philip, Brad Pitt, Jude Law, Orlando Bloom and many more. He has also taught at many international festivals such as the NDCF in MA, USA and the Rutesheim Cello Academy in Germany.
