Creative Writing: An Introduction to Writing for Performance
This two-hour workshop is designed to introduce beginners, and those more
experienced in other forms, to the world of writing for performance.
Playwriting is unlike any other form, and two hours will only be enough to whet
the appetite for the art of writing for performance. This workshop will introduce you to dialogue, setting, character, voice, and much more as you discover the difference
between writing words for a readers’ imagination, to writing words for a live actor to
speak out loud. All you need to bring is a notepad and pen.
(If there is enough interest in this introductory workshop, it may be possible to offer
longer, more thorough sessions)
