Theatre Workshops for 12-18's
Join us for an exciting series of drama workshops exploring all aspects of theatre performance! These 6 sessions build skills week on week - however choose just one or attend all!
The sessions are as follows:
Monday 16th February - Improv
What makes good improvisation, for the performers and the audience? Unsure whether to get involved? Just say ‘yes’!
Monday 23rd February – Character
Understanding motivation, language, and intention when creating new characters - or fleshing out ones we’ve been given.
Monday 2nd March – Masks and physicality:
From Ancient Greece to the Traitors, physical masks to characters concealing their intentions, body language to ‘tells’; how do they affect how we perform?
Monday 9th March – Stage Combat:
Drama! Action! (Pretend) violence! Learn some basics and how to do this safely.
Monday 16th March - Reading and Writing Text:
Putting everything we have learnt into writing and developing some new pieces, to be performed live in the final week.
Monday 23rd March – Performance:
Last rehearsal building performance skills, followed by live performance of short pieces to a live audience. Full details of performance provided to attendees - starts at 7pm.
Each session is £2 per person (get 1 Session free if book all 6!)

Important Notices - these are practical sessions and all attendees will need to wear clothing and footwear that is comfortable and suitable for movement.
Videoing/photographing of participants may be take place during these workshops to help review and learn from performances (especially useful for learning movement or stage combat). This material will only be for the purposes of the workshop and will be recorded on the participants own device. By booking onto this course, you agree that you understand and agree for this to take place (if required).
