THE BANK'S RE-DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2024
INVEST IN CREATIVITY
In 2024, we began working towards a significant phased re-development of The Bank to ensure our Centre can provide inclusive access to the highest-quality facilities, experiences and support.
The primary phase of this re-development focuses on essential improvements to the facilities.
We have provisionally secured significant funding for three essential building changes, poised to be the most vital positive alterations in the building's history. However, before these transformations can occur, we must take our recent pre-applications through to full planning and heritage applications, finalise architect plans, secure building control approval, and tender for the work involved. This critical phase requires additional financial support to take it forward.
After some financially challenging years, we are currently reliant on grant support to support our day-to-day operations, and do not have existing reserves available to fund the next stages of this planning.
Therefore, we are reaching out to our users financial support to implement this ongoing re-development plan. Your contribution towards our project importantly unlocks significant secured grant funding reserved for these initiatives and allow the realisation of our long-awaited building improvements. Including:
Each of these changes will significantly enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and accessibility of our space, ensuring a more enriching experience for our community members, in turn, making the community hub more sustainable in the future.
To unlock the secured grant funding for the planned works, we need to raise a total of £7000 by July 2024.
By contributing towards our target, you will become a Patron of The Bank.
By investing in this phase, you'll be instrumental in ensuring tangible and lasting improvements to our community hub. Your support will not only contribute to the physical revitalisation of our space but will also reinforce our commitment to fostering creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement.
If you can provide financial support, wish to offer in-kind support, or would like to arrange a visit to speak to our team, please contact Jon Betts.

- The creation of a first-floor community workshop space - converting our upstairs meeting rooms into dedicated studio space. This proposed new community arts space will provide new opportunities for learning and engagement. And improve long-term viability of The Bank.
- Upgrades to aging toilet facilities - essential improvement works to our existing toilet facilities and upgrading to compliant disabled access.
- Converting Kitchen from domestic to commercial facilities - renovations to our 25 year old domestic kitchen facilities converting it to a commercial kitchen to cater for our increasing café footfall.
Each of these changes will significantly enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and accessibility of our space, ensuring a more enriching experience for our community members, in turn, making the community hub more sustainable in the future.
