Abstract Drawing and Mark Making Workshop - Monday 13th May 2024
Join us for these fun and experimental workshop sessions exploring drawing in a more expanded way. Participants will be guided through using unusual materials and experimental techniques to develop new ways of mark making, working towards making abstract representation. Led by multi-disciplinary artist Eleanor Rodwell.
These sessions will include a variety of exploitative and engaging activities to help you develop new mark making techniques.
Suitable for both individuals with no drawing experience or artists looking to develop and expand their skill sets.
All materials provided. Participants may bring objects and materials of interest to use during some of the exercises

Natural Ink & Tool Making - Tuesday 28th May 2024
An introduction of how to make your own inks from foraged or leftover materials, with an opportunity to make your own!
Create your own mark making tool too before being let loose in the freedom of creative expression using natural inks and tools.
About the tutor
Rachel Burchell is a local artist whose practice celebrates the natural world using practices and techniques that rest lightly with nature, as well as enhance our connection with it. Rachel seeks to share the joy and the innate wellbeing and mental health benefits that being creative and immersed in nature can bring. This she does by running courses and workshops throughout Norfolk introducing all to natural art.

Photowalk - Magic in the Mundane - Sunday 9th June 2024
Magic in the Mundane photowalks use digital photography to tune in and notice our everyday surroundings with fresh eyes. With creative prompts to help focus on textures, colours and details, we’ll use our cameras to connect with nature and the beauty that exists all around us - wherever we are!
No photography experience necessary
And no need for any fancy equipment - a mobile phone or simple digital camera is fine.
Please note - this session involves walking around the town and surrounding areas and attendees should wear clothing suitable for the weather as we'll be outdoors for at least 1 hour during the session. Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.
About the tutor
Rachel Wright is a photographic artist based in Norwich. She holds an MA in Arts & Ecology from Dartington Arts School, and her multi-layered imagery is inspired by the natural world and the interplay between humans and nature. She is particularly interested in the way the arts can inspire people to see the interconnected nature of the world. Alongside and very much informed by her personal creative practice, Rachel works as a socially engaged arts facilitator, running courses and workshops focusing on creative experimentation, wellbeing and nature connection.

Leaf Printing - Monday 17th June 2024
A relaxing, absorbing workshop exploring the inherent beauty of leaves using natural inks, from foraged or discarded materials. Simple techniques open up a forest of possibilities.
This session will include a short foraging walk (weather permitting), please bring comfortable shoes and appropriate walk wear.

Postcards from Eye - Photowalk and Collage Workshop - Sunday 7th July 2024
This workshop starts with a photowalk, with prompts to notice different elements of our environment. We will then create collaged postcards based on our observations, to reflect our own unique view of the place we have explored.
